# Vanessa Walker

## Biography

Vanessa Walker is a former education leader with over 10 years of experience advancing special education and school operations. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental sustainability from Boston University and a Special Education certification through Boston University’s Graduate School of Education. Vanessa previously worked as a classroom special education teacher, instructional coach, and most recently served as the Director of Specialized Instruction for a Washington, DC public charter school network. She has built a career dedicated to equitable, high quality learning for students with diverse needs. As the Center Operations Director of Rockville, she brings a deep belief in affirming neurodiversity and creating spaces where children can learn and thrive. When not at work, Vanessa can be found with her family and two young children swimming, baking and reading science fiction.
